Welcome to a new year 2019
It is the year of the PIG in Asian cultures. We will be learning all about this:)

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes for my mom. She continues to fight the good fight. I am doing my absolute best to take care of your children and my family at this time. If for any reason you need immediate assistance and I do not respond(kindly give me 24 hrs) please email Linda Cousins lcousins@wcpss.net. She is the 3rd grade coordinator at this school and she can help you.
Please ask your children all about AIG. 5th grade is learning about the Black Plaque and creating a Bakery. 4th grade is learning about Black Footed Ferret's and creating their own Hotel.
As always, feel free to email me anytime.
Have a great week,
Elizabeth Hartel

DUKE TIP INFO

TIPs for 4th–6th Grade EducatorsThe online enrollment deadline of March 31 is coming up, but you still have time to notify (or remind) your eligible students! If you need more materials or a list of students who have enrolled this year, simply reply to this email. Following up with eligible students now is a great way to ensure they enroll before the final deadline.
Need a brief overview of the educator’s role in our program? Find it at our website.

PSAT 8/9 testing on February 10 and 11Our second weekend of PSAT 8/9 testing is this weekend! We have the answers for common issues like lost admissions tickets, severe weather, or a sick child. You can also email psat89tip@tip.duke.edu with other questions.
If you are asked, February 23 and 24 makeup dates are available only to students whose entire test centers close due to inclement weather, not for students who miss their original test date due to illness or schedule conflicts. If parents have more questions, please have them email us.
Finally, PSAT 8/9 score reports will be sent directly to parents in mid- to late-April.
