Cutest cat house
Today we'll be taking an old, cheap bookshelf and turning it into a cat playground! (yawn) What's going on? Why are you wearing my hat? I'm having "me-time", GO AWAY! Anyways, as I was saying- my cats like to jump on everything and anything. We're gonna build them their own bookshelf to play on.
It will be something that we can put in a room where they tend to jump on bookshelves anyway and so they can just climb it, spend time on it, it's their space. Materials! First we have some fleece. Cats love to sleep on soft things, so this will be great.
Some sisal twine. This stuff makes up most cat scratching posts. Here's the bookshelf. First thing we're going to do: cut holes into the shelves so they can jump up to the different levels and then we'll take a whole new piece of material, cut some doors and windows into it and then attach it to the front. Here are some designs I drew on Krita. Here they are edited further in Cam Bam (music) Ta-da! BAM! If you don't have a CNC machine at home you can also cut shapes out of wood using a jigsaw like this one I wrapped the twine through each slot on the bee Here's the fleece from earlier. I cut it into strips and put it on each shelf so they have something cozy to sleep on So here's a tour. At the bottom we have a cat classic mouse hole entrance right next to a cute little window.

On the second story we have a bee cut out with sisal twine stripes- a little bit of a scratching post- next to a honeycomb shaped door so they can jump in from the floor into the second level And at the top we have two cutouts of Wolfgang and Fry's faces Here's Wolfgang: a little bit chubby Fry: a little sharp, angular cat and then a big hole for the opening in case they want jump out from the top Aww, he went in through the bottom! Each shelf has a hole in it to allow for passage from one level to the next (music) They're so cute.
